Adhesion of Bacteria and Biomolecules on Microstructured Component Surfaces

The influence of engineered microstructures of surfaces on the adhesion of bacteria will be studied in-situ by means of surface analytical methods. For this purpose adherent bacteria will be chosen, which are of biotechnological relevance. The objective is to identify correlations between adhesion forces and microstructure/cell combinations on the one hand and the resultant surface properties such as wettability, isoelectric point, roughness, and chemical homogeneity on the other hand.
