Modeling and Simulation of Wetting of Component Surfaces
Wetting of component surfaces is important in many applications of components and in their manufactur-ing. Microscale structures strongly influence wetting and can be used for controlling wetting. We develop models and methods for studies of static and dynamic wetting of component surfaces and related phe-nomena like adsorption with molecular simulations. In a scale-bridging approach, the molecular simulations are connected to phase field simulations of wetting. Additionally, experimental studies of wetting and clean-ing of component surfaces are carried out.
